SICI 2010, INTERNATIONAL INTEGRAL KITCHEN EXHIBITION

Organised by IFEMA and promoted by AMC, SICI staged its sixth edition between 5th and 8th October 2010 at FERIA DE MADRID. For the first time, this event coincided with the staging of CONSTRUTEC, the Building Exhibition, with a view to generating a sense of synergy and creating a highly dynamic and attractive presentational showcase for professional groups targeted by both fairs.

Exports

France, Portugal, Morocco and United Kingdom are the main Spain’s kitchen furniture purchasers in the first half of the year 2010. France, whose kitchen furniture purchases from Spain amounted to 30.251.6 thousands of euros, stands out as the top Spanish furniture importer (65,1%). On the whole, it should be pointed out that Spanish kitchen furniture sales have shown an upward trend during 2010 first half of the year. Except for Morocco, the main markets are EU countries, such as France, Portugal, United Kingdom and Germany. However, countries like the United States (31,9%), United Arab Emirates (2011,2%) and Switzerland (145,9%) have experienced a big increase of their Spain’s purchases if compared to previous year for the same period. It is important to emphasize that exports to Germany, the main kitchen manufacturer in Europe, have also recorded an encouraging increase (78,8%). On the other hand, exports to Mexico (-38,1%), Austria (-17,4%), Greece (-40%), Poland (-22,8%), Bulgaria (-20,5%) and Estonia (-11,9%) have registered a significant decline.
